Changelog

2026-09-07

  • Renamed. The platform is now simply Mini Scholars, a Modern Society Labs company. Mini Scholars Learning Center is the pilot facility and is separate. "MSL EduTech" no longer appears.
  • Eight diagrams added (SVG, generated from fixes/make_diagrams.py so they can be regenerated when the content changes): data path, two tiers, the wall, model fit, reading rope, sound ladder, zone of proximal development, sensory modes. The ASCII architecture block on the data-path page is retired.
  • Data path page now links into the attestation stack's own documentation at every point it depends on it: device identity, attestation flow, two-service architecture, encryption (input and output), privacy bucketing, and the Tier 1/2/3 roadmap. Added an honesty note: Locale's docs list gateway-attested devices (our hub design) under future work, so the hub integration is design, not shipped code.
  • Renamed for parents. The technical page formerly titled with the attestation stack's product name is now How the data path works, and a new plain-language page, Privacy by design, sits in front of it. The product name of the underlying attestation system no longer appears on this site or on minischolars.co; it is linked instead (what it is). Reason: families should not need to learn a product name to understand what happens to their child's voice.
  • The walkthrough stop formerly labelled with that name is now "05 · Privacy by design" and its copy was rewritten in plain language.

2026-09-06 (later)

  • Correction, Facility OS. An earlier draft said no incumbent integrates with state subsidy portals. That was wrong: attendance upload to state portals via KinderSystems is documented in eight states, including Missouri's CCBIS. The claim is now limited to per-child payment reconciliation, which we could not find in any incumbent. Added a state landscape table with sources.
  • Added Bounded models on an $8 chip with the measured July 2026 numbers.
  • Product pages on minischolars.co trimmed to summaries that link here.

2026-09-06

  • Site created. Briefs published: Talking Book, Companion, Sensory Rooms, Learning & Family Apps, Facility OS, Learning frameworks, Privacy by design, Legal frame.
  • All citations verified per How we cite.
  • Known open item: the Reading Rockets URL for Scarborough's Reading Rope returned a "page not found" on their site on 2026-09-06 despite being their canonical link. Retained pending a replacement.
